It Ain’t Over ’til the Fat Lady Sings
The last week in the city has definitely felt like spring is in the works, and even if winter isn’t quite over yet, dreams of sundresses and flip flops are sure to have shoppers out in full force in the coming weeks. The City Opera Thrift Shop agrees, and is offering a spring shopping preview this Thursday, as they begin stocking the store for the new season.
Designer dresses, shirts and jeans (just in time for fashion week) can be found at 50% – 70% off, and even the fashionistas at Vogue have called it “the highest quality thrift shop in New York.” The store also has a hand picked selection of vintage furniture and housewares to accent even the humblest of abodes. With spring cleaning also just around the corner, City Opera Thrift welcomes customers to donate used goods during store hours, and even offer a free pick up service for larger quantities of goods. Such donations can also aid you in the worst part of spring, tax season, as they are tax deductible. The best part of the experience is that all proceeds help to fund costume creation and design for the City Opera; the arts are what has made New York great for so long, and in hard times it is more important than ever to keep creativity alive.
