It’s not everyday that I find myself in candlelight hotel banquette, sipping bubbly with one of the hottest up-and-coming American designers, so when I was asked to interview Jedda Kahn before his Fall 2008 Collection show hosted by Papierdoll Magazine and Second Style Magazine, I gladly accepted.

Kahn described this collection to be focused on lines and shapes. He used a “darkest navy” color palette that was inspired by his living space; a palette that he stayed away from in the past because of the military, structural feel, but embraced this season to pair with the chocolate shade. Not to create a new scheme, but pay homage to classic colors and with beautiful fabrics.

The designs, that are purely feminine, flowed and folded from silk satin to silk chiffon. A collection of dresses in mixed patterns and lovely layers sat atop a spider web of tights. The ‘Victorian Mod’ look was complete with a messy braid (created with Rusk products) across the forehead and Make Up For Ever sultry, smoky eyes.

Loved it- The mini dresses with gorgeous folds and gently puffed sleeves. Leave it- The squared halter bodices that seemed juvenile and didn’t flow.
