Da da da da da da…It’s Thursday! It’s Thursday! And Thursday means we can play…It’s Thursday! It’s Thursday! We’re going to play today!
In my head, this diddy (not the P variety, the OG variety) was set to show tune type music. Go on back and read it with a chorus in the background, it’s super fly.
Why? Because it’s THURSDAY! And we LOVE Thursday! We’re going to go out tonight because we only have one more workday before we can sleep all weekend. Hooray! We also love Thursday because it’s the second day of the week when you get your BN/City Pulse dose. But…doesn’t that also make us sad because now you have to wait until Tuesday for more moi? Well, I’d like to think it makes you sad, but your inbox is probably…to use a Northern Cali term…hella relieved. I hate that term, by the way, but I’ve never used it, so I thought – hey, there’s gotta be a first time for everything.

Today I bring you two pieces of goodness – why? Because birds of a feather flock together. That makes no sense, but I’m going to hope you ignore it.
Ladies who love their bling things, check out www.shopstir.com. I don’t know about you, but I always stir it up when I shop – stir what, exactly, I’m not so sure, but I’m sure that it’s stirring somewhere. The site has only been in existence since November 2005 – that means you’re going to be the first to jump on the bandwagon. The founders’ whole goal is – let’s get you noticed. Somehow, someway, they want you to be noticed…and let me tell you, their blingy goodness does the trick. Think bedazzling, but classy – not chinsy sh*tty crappy bedazzling. I mean like the kind that sparked and set the trend standard in the first place.

There are earrings, money clips, and my personal fave – the wine corks. Who has or needs a bedazzled wine cork? Uh, me, that’s right. I MUST HAVE ONE. Why? Because…yep, you guessed it, I’m special like that. The earrings are rad, too – they’re made of fender picks so you can look totally “rock ‘n’ roll” even when you know you’re a complete and utter square. OK! I ADMIT IT! LIKE ME! I’M A SQUARE. But I’m trying to break free from it, so give a girl a break.
I also love how they are counting down to Christmas on the website – go on, dare them to miss a day, they won’t, because they’re sparklingly on top of things.

The other treat-non-trick is another website, but it is also a real live place you can go visit – and I highly suggest you do. But first, I am going to take a poll – who among you has always wanted to learn how to knit? I can’t speak for you, but I can speak for me, and the answer is I HAVE. I’ve tried to teach myself – no go, my friends. I get to the end of my first strand, the book tells me to pearl, I have a minor panic attack, put the yarn/needles down, vow to try again later, and voila, five years later and I still don’t know how to knit. If you’re an expert knitter, don’t ignore this – it’s for you, too, I promise.
Knit New York is a store downtown on 14th st (the east side of west), and not only is it a PHENOMENAL yarn/knitting store, they also offer classes. Classes is a word that my nincompoop knitting hands like to hear. They’ve got all sorts of classes ranging from, oh, please someone help me learn how to knit to fixing the mistakes you made when you thought you learned how to knit but you really don’t. These classes start at $75, not including supplies – but…that’s ok, because that means we get to go SHOPPING for our supplies.

You can shop online or, of course, at the store en personne.
The whole thing is so stupendous, I wish I knew how to knit it across a sweater and share it with the world via…my sweater. Someday, somewhere, over the rainbow, I’ll get there.
