London Bridges Coming Up

Fiamma Poltock, 26, and Katie Walsh, 25, are the brains behind the beautiful Spring 2008 collection. The fairly new London-based line showcased neons of the 80s that is so in right now, albeit a lot of ruffles reminiscent of one of my favorite dresses when I was eight, that I despised by the time I was ten. The talent was definitely apparent and I will (and you should too) look forward to seeing them “blow up.”

Lauralee Davis of MAX Factor and her team of make-up artists generated “pale, almost androgynous” Man Ray-inspired 30s-looking models with matted skin and a heavy eyebrow. Lasting Performance Stay Put foundation was used all over the face, even on lips and lids. Black eyeshadow was used to fill in overstated brows.

“There is a fairy look to the clothes and fairies are dramatic,” says Christo of Christo Fifth Avenue salon, who was inspired by water. Sleek, flowing tresses made the models look natural and mythical. Some of the models wore buns, so as not to interfere with the mass of ruffles around their necks.
