Ah…Italian food. Pizza, pasta, tomatoes, cheese…live it, love it, covet it. There are plenty of places to do so in NYC, dear readers, and we just popped by one of the latest appetizing additions – Granduca di Silicia. This trattoria/pizzeria is located in the Flatiron district right down the street from another little Italian joint you might have heard of called Eataly.

In contrast to that grand signora, Granduca is a moderately sized, airy yet still cozy, space that’s inspired by everything Sicily, from the authentic décor to the rustic cuisine accented with classic Sicilian flavors. The menu features plenty of delectable dishes including seafood, salads, meats, homemade pastas, veggies, and sweet dessert treats. The brick oven pizzas made with Sicilian specialty Granduca extra virgin olive oil are a highlight as a heavenly slice of fresh, mouth-watering perfection on the palate.
