Are you one of the few who can still afford to live in Manhattan in a sweet West Village rent-controlled apartment but long for a hip life on the other side of the (insert Brooklyn-bound Bridge here)? Enter Bond No. 9’s new fragrance, appropriately titled “Brooklyn”. The unisex eau de parfum with notes of cedarwood and juniper berries in an unmistakably cool graffiti-blasted bottle will have you smelling of nights in Williamsburg, minus the truly irritating ride home on the L train.
Post launch, said bottle design caused quite a stir among the boroughs artistic set and in response, Bond No. 9 has launched the Brooklyn Design Contest. Where you can put on your creative hat, excuse me, fedora and show the folks at the fragrance brand what Brooklyn is all about. Amateurs and artists alike are welcome to participate, so check out the guidelines below and take a stroll in your favorite Brooklyn neighborhood for some hip, un-gentrified inspiration. But hurry, the yuppies are slowly taking over!

â€¢ Inspiration can come from anywhere in Brooklyn – DUMBO, Park Slope, Flatbush, Canarsie, Midwood, Bay Ridge, etc. or from the very idea of Brooklyn. â€¨ â€¨
â€¢ Any medium is okay: oil, acrylic, watercolor, house paint, pastel, crayon, Magic Marker, makeup – even a ballpoint pen or pencil will do.

After the two winners are chosen in early April, the victorious designs will be put into production, with the winner’s names displayed on the bottles. Each winner will also receive one bottle of Brooklyn per month for a year.
