Motown: The Musical is the true story of the 1960s-era origins of the Detroit-based sound that defined an entire generation. Based on Berry Gordy’s book “To Be Loved,” this musical presents all the standard and much-loved Motown hits from The Supremes, The Temptations, The Jackson Five and various chart-toppers. Songs include I Heard It Through The Grapevine, My Girl, Where Did Our Love Go, Stop In The Name of Love, ABC, Please Mr. Postman and dozens of other megahits within a compelling plot and dazzling set. The actors are so excellent that you forget you’re in NYC and not Detroit, circa 1969.

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate an occasion, render a date special or to entertain visitors, you can’t miss with this vivacious musical offering and ode to Motown. You’ll leave the theater singing and feeling jubilant. Detroit’s Motown was a veritable hits machine – and this Broadway play certainly does it justice.
