In its fifth year during NYFW, NOLCHA Fashion Week brings together independent designers and beauty retailers under one artsy roof – this time at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea. I was fortunate to snag a ticket to various fashion shows and preview products. Here’s the scoop for our BNNYC readers on some terrific finds:

Eclectic Designers for the Bold Heart:

Danilo Gabrielli specializes in high-end eveningwear for both men and women. His style is luxurious and edgy. You’ll feel like a goddess wearing his pieces, extravagant and glittery – on trend for glam events but absolutely not the office!

Guljan YRYS are festive clothes for the stylish gal ready to party. Garments boast innovative silhouettes that are sensuous, flirty and fun.

KabukiU is reminiscent of 1950s loungewear. As soon as you slip on a Telina Webb kimono, you’re transported to romantic, enchanting times. Webb is also inspired by her Euro-Asian heritage and has designed for over three decades.

Carrie Parry offers a lady-like collection that transitions seamlessly from day to night. Sophisticated, tailored and whimsical, her dresses and blouses are oh so pretty. Parry is the recipient of the Innovation USA Award from NOLCHA and the Ethical Fashion Forum for promoting sustainability in fashion. (

LypSyl Lip Balm originated in Sweden over a century ago. It is formulated from all natural soothing pure Swedish beeswax and therapeutic ingredients like organic Shea butter, coconut oil and vitamins E and A for superior moisture and lip protection. The container has a unique shape with a cool sliding bee on the side to apply the lip balm neatly and evenly. Forget messy digging with nails or Q-tips. Look for creamy LypSyl lip balms at retail chains nation-wide like CVS and Rite-Aid and online at and at

Kiss Everlasting French Pearl Nails and Premium Eyelashes easily boost a fashionista’s confidence. Available in medium and real short lengths, the nails give a subtle shimmer sure to complement a cat walker’s look. They appear quite natural and are guaranteed not to chip, crack or wear away for a week. The eyelashes also look natural and will add a waterproof WOW factor to eyes. My PR friend correctly assumed this reporter was skeptical and nervous and insisted I give them a try. (I had never worn false eyelashes.) Well, the Kiss lashes looked terrific and were easy to apply with application strings for precision. Kiss products are available at national stores such as CVS and Walgreens, plus
