Times Square might be the focus of the fury but it isn’t the only place to rebel-rouse and ring in the New Year — it’s not too late to make reservations, dine, drink and dance into the wee hours in this city that allegedly never sleeps.
Here are several suggestions to kiss the end of 2014 goodbye while embracing 2015.
Upstairs at the Kimberly Hotel is celebrating with live entertainment, delicious gourmet hors d’oeuvres, desserts and cocktails with a 5-hour open bar and party favors all night. The celebration starts at 9:00 pm, with DJ Greg Hansen setting the place aflame until 4:00 am.
Bites include: Lobster Medallions, Thai Chicken Satay, Spiced Duck Cigars, Grilled Lamb Lollipops and more inventive cuisine.
In one word: Swank.

The Hotel Plaza Athénée is presenting an evening of fine dining with a six course tasting menu including Foie Gras, Halibut en Croute, Fresh Langoustines and other choices. This party includes dinner, dancing and live entertainment from Lincoln Center, plus a champagne toast at midnight.
Think Great Gatsby.

If you insist on being as close to Times Square without standing in the street, I recommend the Super Nova Ball Drop. The Novotel is blasting away the big night near the heart of Times Square, but a step away from the horde. The festivities start at 9pm and run until 3am with VIP tables, a 6-hour open bar, buffet, DJ and plenty of room to punish the parquet.
Check out the new renovations with an international crowd.

The Dream Hotel Downtown has a 5,300 square foot enclosed rooftop situated in between the trendy Meatpacking District and the changing neighborhood we call Chelsea. Perhaps you remember Heidi Klum’s Halloween parties — you might even find a discarded mask or two in the WC.
If you want to get your cocktail and groove on, this is where you’ll find the local natives and possibly a few celebs as well as techie execs from Google — it’s their lounge. Dress to the 9s and enjoy the bottle service with spectacular views both inside and out.
