Ohne Titel presented a very strong collection this season, showing a combination of smooth forms and streamlined shapes, styled by Giovanna Battaglia. The idea of protection was a major factor in the design; clothing as a shield against stronger elements. The curved lines and body-skimming pieces are contrasted with knitted textures and fur. Toughness with a modern femininity was the composition of each piece in the collection.
To achieve the look of the urban warrior, makeup artist Lisa Butler for MAC Cosmetics used sheer white and brown creams on the face to contour and sculpt. On the skin, MAC Mineralize Moisture Gel was used as well as MAC Select Moisture Cover Concealer. The idea was to create a face with a mixture of strength and softness. Cream eyeshadow and MAC Naturally Defined Sculpting Cream in Coffee Walnut are layered along the crease of the eye, under the eye, and below the cheekbones for contouring. A satiny, cream eyeshadow called Crystal Avalanche is used for highlighting and luminosity. Overall the face is made strong with sheer, natural color and form.
The vision for the hair was brought to life by Jimmy Paul of Bumble and Bumble, who described the look as “little helmets”. The key product for this look was the Bumble and Bumble Gel, which was used to mold smooth and shiny shapes in the hair. The front was shaped into a curved-in swirl along the forehead and the back was pulled down into a low braided ponytail. The gel made the hair shiny and sculpted, and very hard and architectural. The hard edged, smooth hair with the clothes made a strong and bold vision come to life.
