Chicken or fish? Soup or salad? Wine or beer? It seems we always have to make a choice when it comes to our dining and imbibing experiences. But on February 25 and 26, you can indulge in two of my faves, plus a whole lot more, at the 7th Annual Coffee & Tea Festival. That’s right, with a global lineup of coffee and tea exhibitors as well as several classes, demos, and seminars, there is plenty to perk up your interest, sip on, and snack at this enticing event.
In addition to elevating your caffeine high, this year’s edition has also added a few shots of entertainment. First, the festival will play host to the 2012 United States Barista Championship (USBC), Northeast Competition. If you thought the baristas at your local Starbucks were the best slingers in NYC, get ready to see that skinny, no foam, tall, half-caf cappuccino taken up a notch. Last but not least, there will be a performance by the cast of the upcoming Broadway show, Coffee: The Musical. Based on coffee and the cafe culture, I imagine that any songs from this will be energetic, to say the least.
The Coffee & Tea Festival will be held at 7 West, located at 7 West 34th Street. It’s open to the public and trade. Tickets are $20. For more information, check out the website: http://www.CoffeeAndTeaFestival.com.
