NYC artist and illustrator Patricia Wersinger, a native of the Alsace region of France, illustrates and designs Christmas whimsical, joyful and beautiful holiday cards every year that capture the spirit of Alsace. She likes to recreate the special charm of the holiday season during her youth. “Christmas was a time when for weeks you were busy baking, cooking, and singing in anticipation of the big day,” she explains. “I try to capture that fun and warm time.”

Her holiday cards also include pagan elements such as nature sprites, fairies and even impish demons lurking in the corners. Inspired by a romantic view of nature, she dwells on intricate patterns of foliage, flowers, and weeds that seem to correspond to complex structures of the mind. “All parts of life are important, the good and the bad,” she says, “They all fuel our emotions and make them rich, so I want to celebrate all of life in the spirit of Christmas.”

Patricia’s cards are available on Etsy.com. Look for her on Etsy under PatriciaWhimsyArtist////

Patricia is also available for children’s portrait commissions. She composes fantasy scenes in which children appear as characters in trees, flowers or other fantasy compositions.

More examples of her works can be seen at Patriciacosmica.carbonmade.com. Fantastic Holiday cards!
