City Pulse

By Ashley Goldsmith

It’s finally here-the tents, the fashion, the beautiful people and lucky for you, with just the click of a mouse, all of the highlights of the week will be right at your fingertips courtesy of BeautyNewsNYC. We’re ready to brave sleep deprived nights and a weeklong caffeine-only diet (btw, McCafé a.k.a McDonalds is the official coffee of Fashion Week this season-who knew?!)

We’ll be sticking to our regular weekly issues with an extra thrown in to make sure we’ve got you covered without overwhelming you with information. We know you don’t need to know every last detail, that’s why we’ll be noting the biggest trends at the shows from hair and makeup to nails and of course the clothes! We’ll be covering big names like Tory Burch, Vena Cava and Charlotte Ronson (we will soo tell you if we spot Lohan and Sam) and you can count on features of brands like Coventry, created by Donna Karan alum Matthew Terry, who will be showing for the first time on Tuesday.

As we’ve mentioned before, many big name designers are opting out of the Tents for smaller more intimate shows. We’ll be ranking up some serious cab fares to ensure that we’ve covered as much as possible without passing out from wearing 4+inch heels for more hours in a day and days in a row then anyone should.

We’ve seen how the economy is affecting the venues but will the designs come out on top? Will we finally see more diverse models strutting their stuff? More importantly, some well nourished models? Stay tuned as all that and more will be answered, but for now, less talk and more work as I haven’t got a thing to wear…
