City Pulse

By Candace Bryan

Black Friday may be long behind us, but unless you’re WonderWoman, you probably still have a lot of shopping to do before Christmas arrives. Unfortunately, though, so do most people in New York City, and that means the crowds at every department store and holiday market will only add to the stress you already feel while trying to find the perfect gifts. Navigating the holiday hubbub sometimes is no fun, and can even take the joy out of the holiday season.

No Baa Humbug here; we’ve found a solution that will make your holiday shopping easier and get you more into the Christmas spirit by supporting a charitable cause. And, it’s online!

Andaz Hotels and Women for Women International have joined forces to create an online holiday bazaar called “Gifts That Give Back.” The market, hosted on Joyus http://www.joyus.com/giftsthatgiveback, is a “virtual pop-up shop” that will sell specially curated, creative gifts made my local artists – home décor, artwork, jewelry, apparel and more to satisfy all your gifting needs. By shopping the site, you can not only avoid the crowded NYC shopping scene, you can also support a great cause – all the proceeds from the Gift That Give Back will go to help Women for Women International.

Hop over to the site and see for yourself: all the wares for sale are creative and fun, and the only drawback is that you’ll be tempted to by everything for yourself.
