|Murray’s Cheese Shop is a legend in the West Village. It’s a tiny store crammed with every imaginable cheese created. If you’re a cheese lover like me, you want to buy every cheese in the place and gleefully run home thinking of all the ways you can enjoy the treats. Since it is a small place, it can get crowded quickly, and waiting for those heavenly yummies can be frustrating. Happily, they will be expanding the shop…to across the street. November 10, is the grand opening of a huge Murray’s Cheese shop rat the corner of Cornelia and Bleeker. That’s literally across the street from the old one. I heard a rumor that they’ll be bringing in other tasty comestibles, but we’ll just have to wait a few days and see what’s inside on opening day.|
If you need an excuse to go to the movies, Loews’s Cineplex will be happy to help you out. Tuesday, November 9, they’re rolling back prices in the concession stands. You’ll be able to buy medium sized sodas and popcorn for a buck each. That’ll help take the sting out of the ticket price.
Yeah, it’s Monday and like the old song says, “Mondays I’ve got Fridays on my mind.” If you’re having trouble de-stressing, why don’t you have a spa party with your friends instead of sniffling on the couch.
Spa Chicks On The Go is the brain child of licensed massage therapist Marie Scalonga. She and her troupe of licensed merry aestheticians will pamper you and your friends at your home, hotel, loft/studio or even corporate office. They offer everything from reflexology, Swedish, deep tissue and prenatal massage to Henna Art, manis, pedis, and facials. They even have Men’s grooming like shaving and barbering. So, instead of getting plastered during a bachelorette party, have a spa party in your home instead – everyone will glow and no one will have a hang over. What a great treat for a Mom to be, to walk into a baby shower and find out that she’s also going to have a massage and a manicure.
Spa Chicks On The Go have livened up everything from Sweet Sixteens to, product launches and wrap parties. The packages start at $800, which includes two spa stations for three hours, spa robes/slipper rentals, all equipment/products/supplies, transportation and a small spa gift for each guest.
They’ve been written up in InStyle, Meetings, Conventions, Spa Finder, Child, Spa and other magazines. You may have seen a piece on them in NY1.

Zogsports is a charity-focused, co-ed social sports club that promotes social action with young professionals in the city. I know a few people who are on their touch football team and they have a blast chasing each other in Central Park. The group donates a portion of all their proceeds to charity, and helps members Play For Their Cause via corporate charitable donations to winning teams charities of choice.
