We could all use a confidence boost every once in a while. Whether it’s due to those new killer heels, some bright red lipstick or and unexpected compliment everyone likes to feel on top of the world sometimes. That’s where Dress for Success comes in, a not-for-profit organization created to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women. This is achieved by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in the workplace and in their lives.
In celebration of these successful women, Allergan Inc., the health care company behind BOTOX, has created Express Success, a charitable education campaign spearheaded by Vanessa Williams. Their first event, the Rack Relay Race will be held next week at Grand Central. You can register online to compete in the event where teams of four will “dress” mannequins for success and race to the finish line. The winning team will win lunch with Vanessa Williams in NYC and a $100 gift certificate from DSW. Attendee’s are also encouraged to drop off nearly new professional clothing donations at the event. |
If you’re busy being one of New York’s successful women and can’t make it out on Tuesday, Allergan will donate $2 to Dress for Success on behalf of those who visit and register on http://www.ExpressSuccessCampaign.com. Everyone who pledges support on the Web site will also be entered to win a trip for two to NYC to have lunch with Vanessa Williams.
