As many of our readers are aware, BeautyNewsNYC dedicates the month of October as our philanthropic issue where we highlight products and services that aim to promote breast cancer awareness and other charitable causes. As companies begin to build campaigns for breast cancer awareness month, here at BeautyNews we want to be sure our readers are in the know as to what events are happening in our New York City area.
For seven years, The Avon Foundation for Women has raised over $320 million to help in the fight against breast cancer with the Avon Walk. Last year, men and women in their teens to their 80′s set out on a two-day, 39 mile walk raising $52 million. This year, BeautyNewsNYC readers have the opportunity to be a part of the exhilarating appearance with the New York City Avon Walk October 16th-17th. |
After registering, each participant is required to raise at least $1,800 in donations in addition to preparing physically for the walk. Avon is offering BeautyNewsNYC readers a special offer with a reduced registration fee of $45 (originally $65).
