It’s no secret that the U.S. economy is in the crapper, but even as Americans look for more ways to save money, reduce costs and pay down debts, one should always remember that there are millions of people in the world who have less than even the poorest Americans.
When was the last time you drank a cup of clear, clean, cold water? A glass for breakfast? A bottle of Evian with lunch? Over 1.1 billion people in the world don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water. There are women, children, men and families who drink contaminated water every day of their lives. Often, safe drinking water is located underground, just out of the reach of poor towns and villages. Charity:water raises money to help dig wells to reach clean, pure water.
On February 12, Twitter, one of the Internet’s most popular mini-blogging services, is hosting Twestival with charity:water, to help bring clean drinking water to countries who don’t have access to safe water conditions. This special festival in NYC will be only one of 120 events that are also participating in Twestival in various cities around the globe.
You can help those in need by purchasing tickets to this event at http://www.amiando.com/twestivalnyc.html. 100% of the profits earned from ticket sales will be given to charity:water. BeautyNewsNYC will be attending Twestival – so please bring some friends and enjoy the open bar from 7:30 – 9 p.m. We promise that the evening will be a blast – and like a glass of clean, pure H20, giving generously is great for your health.
When: Thursday February 12th 7:30-10:30pm
Where: M2 530 W. 28th St. (Between 10th & 11th Avenues)
