The warm fuzzy feeling you get from giving back to your community is really priceless. Whether it’s something as small as helping someone cross the street, participating in your local food drive around the holidays or as big as creating an educational organization dedicated to helping kids improve their reading and math skills.
In celebration of some outstanding community women, L’Oréal Paris has just announced the ten 2009 Women of Worth Honorees, each of whom will be recognized for their amazing work giving back to their communities. As part of this honor, each of these incredible women will receive $5,000 for their non-profit cause and $5,000 in their name to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
The ten honorees represent women from all across America, dedicated to a range of causes. Like Halle Tecco from San Francisco who created Yoga Bear, an organization that provides free yoga classes to cancer patients and Anne Ginther from Washington State who founded RandomKid, which provides staff and services to youth of all backgrounds and abilities for the development, management and accomplishment of their goals to help others.
Now through November 24th you can log onto http://www.womenofworth.com to vote for your favorite honoree and the woman that receives the most consumer votes will win an additional $25,000 from L’Oréal Paris for her cause. On December 8th all ten Women of Worth will be honored at the CNN Inspire Summit held in our very own city.
Pretty inspirational stuff huh?
