Do you want to see a goat play ball? Ride a carousel? Play mini golf for a prize? See sea lions being fed? Learn how to make cool desserts in your kitchen? Want to do it all for free? Then come out to Brooklyn on Sunday, August 7th.

The organization Heart of Brooklyn is hosting a full day of free admission and special events at six different Brooklyn cultural/learning institutions, including:

• The Brooklyn Botanic Garden: You can take a seasonal highlights tour at 1 p.m., or check out the Native New Yorkers exhibit at any time. Normally $10/$5 for adult/student admission, it’s free.

• The Prospect Park Zoo: you can watch Elroy the goat play ball at noon in the Barn, or see the sea lions Stella and Beebe be fed at 11:30 a.m. or 2 or 4 p.m. Normally $10/$8 for adults/children, you can check out the other animals and exhibits as well, all for free.

• The Brooklyn Children’s Museum: If your kids are the type that like hands-on learning as well as food, you should check out “Kitchen Chemistry: Cool-inary Creations” and “Blooming Babies: We All Scream for Ice Cream.

• Prospect Park: Adults might enjoy the 8 a.m. bird walk, while kids will love the Summer Songs and Stories at Lefferts Historic House or free rides on the carousel at Prospect Park Children’s Corner.

• Brooklyn Museum: The Brooklyn Museum has a host of exhibits, including Vishnu: Hinduism’s Blue-Skinned Savior, Lorna Simpson: Gathered and reOrder: An Architectural Environment by Situ Studio.

• Brooklyn Public Library (Central), Grand Army Plaza: Engineers and budding engineers might want to take a look at the Grand Lobby exhibit Brooklyn’s Bridges: Engineering as Art & Inspiration.

• Brooklyn Icons Mini Golf, Grand Army Plaza: From 12 – 5, you can play on a mini golf course made up of Brooklyn landmarks, including the Brooklyn Bridge and Grand Army Plaza’s Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch. The best score wins a free meal at a local restaurant.
