THUY fall 2008 women’s ready-to-wear collection redefines the edgy glam girl. Liam Carey, the lead stylist for Ted Gibson hair salon describes the hair as “simple, yet elegant”. Hair was set in loose curls pulled back from the face with some tendril’s falling down to one side. The off the side look epitomizes the 1950s era. Glam was offset by the deconstructed natural loose curls and waves. To get the best up-do use Ted Gibson’s hair sheet. This moist towelette enriched with vitamins tames frizzy hair, helps moisturize especially fine, fly-away hair and is great for the on-the-go girl to keep them in her bag.
Romero Jennings, head makeup artist for MAC, kept the look young and youthful describing the makeup as super simple. The eyes were highlighted with “nylon” and “brule” shimmery shadow. Heavy mascara made the eyes pop down the runway. The cheeks had no added color, while the mouth popped with brilliant brick red color in “fascinating”. The pairing of the neutral eye with the retro color lipstick complemented THUY’s fall line perfectly. The collection paired neutral and traditional colors with unexpected additions of bright blues, reds, oranges and purples found in their tights, gloves and shoes.
