Comfy, cozy, real-girl style sums up Twinkle by Wenlan’s Fall 2007 collection. Boasting bold colors like purples, reds and a vibrant burnt orange (a rarity on the runway thus far) the Twinkle girl is ready for anything in easy layers, flowing dresses and luxurious knit sweaters and retro hats.

Backstage, M.A.C.’s head makeup artist Charlie Green conceptualized a look that was fantasy inspired and fairy-like. Layered color on the eyelid -mauve and beige shadows- was complemented by matte skin, a bare cheek and highlighter to add depth to cheekbones. Lips were muted with foundation and a mauve lipstick completed the girlish look.

Meanwhile, loose, natural waves by Redken added to the feminine and romantic vibe. Freelance stylist Thomas Himtermeier called the look “very ’20′s inspired…a bit Scottish girl in the 18th century; pure and innocent.” Redken hairspray finger combed into hair added essential texture.
Twinkle’s line wasn’t groundbreaking, but the accessibility and comfort level made the collection worthy of attention for fans of girlish, retro inspired style.
