“That was really cool when I got to go onstage and dance at the end of the show, Mommy,” said my 3.5 year old son after I took him to see Angelina Ballerina, the Musical at the award-winning Vital Theatre Company. Defying the cultural stigma of boys having anything to do with ballet, this professional-caliber production can be enjoyed and appreciated by virtually anyone who values the arts, creativity and every type of dance under the sun, from hip hop to Flamenco.
With book and lyrics by Susan DiLallo and music by Ben Morss, the show is based on the CG-animated series, Angelina Ballerina The Next Steps on PBS KIDS®, Angelina Ballerina, The Musical is a family-friendly show, appropriate for ages 3-12, and will have the entire audience (literally) dancing in the aisles.
