Overwhelmed by your to-do list before saying “I do”? The Wedding Library can school you in the art of wedding planning. It’s Manhattan’s one-stop-shop for access to all things bridal. We checked out their 5th annual Wedding Party at the New York Palace featuring the crème de la crème of wedding planners: Claudia Hanlin, wedding guru and founder of The Wedding Library, Darcy Miller, Editorial Director at Martha Stewart Weddings, and a wedding-elite panel consisting of Mindy Weiss, Amsale Aberra, Randy Fenoli, Sylvia Weinstock, Matthew Robbins, and Peter Callahan.
Miller’s video presentation featured a diverse selection of weddings (including her own) and their key inspiration elements. Then came questions from attentive brides-to-be about seasonal color trends, selecting beverages on a budget, and how to turn a beach venue into an upscale affair. And no wedding party event would be complete without delectable treats, music, and photo booth mementos.
The event’s “wedding librarians” escorted the crowd to a floor where a party was in full swing with vendors galore, displaying everything from hair style demonstrations, floral arrangements, travel venues, fine jewelry, and personalized party favors – to my personal favorite: cake tastings from One Girl Cookies and Butterfly Bake Shop.
An exquisite Kleinfeld runway show followed, then an after-party with music and scotch-tasting by The Macallan. The lesson was clear – bridezilla be gone! The Wedding Library can turn your wedding feat into a fabulous fête.
