I had my first experience with caviar at the age of eight. Mom and I were shopping up and down the Miracle Mile (for non-Long Islandites, it’s a shopping area in Manhasset), we had worked up quite an appetite. Shopping is very hard work. Mom and I looked at each other and decided to get a snack. Inside the restaurant, I looked over the menu, when I noticed listed under tea sandwiches; “caviar sandwich.” I looked at mom, “Mommy, what’s caviar?”
Mom looked over her menu at me and smiled, “Honey, you don’t want that. It’s very salty and crunchy. You won’t like it.”
The waitress overheard our conversation, and smilingly offered to give me one just to taste. It came on a tiny plate atop a paper doily. The sandwich was cut on the diagonal, and the bread was more like a hard cracker than the soft bread an eight year old was used to handling. I took a bite. Crunch, crunch, crunch. The saltiness overwhelmed my taste buds and I must have made quite a face because the waitress and my mom couldn’t stop laughing. It took me awhile to get over the experience.
And now I found something with caviar that’s delicious and zero calories. You don’t eat it, you wear it.
Did you know that caviar is fantastic for your skin? It contains 23 to 26% protein and essential amino acids; is high in vitamins – like A (retinol), B, E, D, B2 and B6, and is a great source of Marine DNA. This means that caviar has very strong hydrating and conditioning properties. The Marine DNA, protein and essential amino acids stimulate cell regeneration.
The Signature Caviar Line created by Kerstin Florian International not only contains Seruga Caviar from the Caspian Sea; it also has Co-Enzyme A, a healing anti-oxidant, caffeine as a toning anti-oxidant and the Chinese herb Chai Hu (Bupleurum Extract). In other words, these products are the ultimate in an anti-aging skin regimen.
I tried the Caviar Eye Creme, the Caviar Age-Defense, The Caviar Night Creme and the Caviar Firming Body Complex for a period of time. The products have a very pleasant, light scent and they absorbed very quickly into my dry winter skin.
The eye creme comes in a pump, this is a wonderful idea. You get a small measured dose on your finger. No longer will you have to fight to put the excess creme back into the tub. The eye creme is feather light, neither greasy nor heavy. It banishes dark circles under the eyes, minimizes fine lines, puffiness and brightens. The caviar is aided with caffeine and green tea extract.
The Caviar Age-Defense very quickly became a favorite part of my morning regimen. Why? It sinks into your skin immediately. No more long waits until you can safely apply your base. It made my skin feel smoother and supple. Applying base was a breeze. Besides caviar, this also contains rose flower oil, Co-enzyme A and Chai Hu (firming agent). The combination of the caviar, firming agents and anti-aging ingredients reduce fine lines and really does make your skin smooth and very soft.
After a shower, the Caviar Firming Body Complex is a real treat, It feels luxurious, slightly sinful and your body will love you for it. It also contains anti-aging ingredients and vitamins, definitely skin food.
The Night Creme is rich, thick, but seeps into your pores as quickly as the Age-Defense. Not only does it contain caviar, it also contains green tea, shea butter and seaweed. The first few times I tried it, my skin tingled a bit, but I continued, after a day or two that stopped.
How were the results of my road testing? Recently I had a facial and the aesthetician remarked on how nice my skin looked and felt. This was after using it a little over a week.
I give high marks to this line. It’s not heavily perfumed, lightweight, and absorbs easily into your skin. I’ve only used it for a little over two weeks; but my skin feels soft and looks healthy. Unlike some other moisturizers, there isn’t any leftover “greasiness” or heaviness on your skin. The day and night cremes came with little scoop applicators, I couldn’t deal with those. Too tiny for me, the cremes were easier (for me) to manipulate by hand.
