“Flights of Fancy” was the theme of Erin Fetherston’s Spring 2008 ethereal collection Wednesday afternoon. The whole collection foreshadowed subtle beauty and elegance for the spring. The designer exhibited a fun and girly collection of pieces that embodied the feminine form. The use of light pastel tones enhanced the sense of simple beauty.

Lyndell Mansfeld and her team at Bumble and Bumble fashioned angel like tresses for the models. The hairstylists wanted to emphasize each model’s individuality by giving them their own looks. The use of different techniques and adornments including hairpieces and various hairstyles helped to differentiate each of the girl’s beauty. There was an emphasis on naturality in creating the various hairstyles. To achieve the fresh and healthy looks, Lyndell Mansfeld’s team used Bumble and Bumble shine spray. To complement the hair, makeup extraordinaire Vincent Longo created a fresh-faced palette for the girls. The use of one essential splash of color highlighted the model’s features. The look was subtle but beautiful with a spotlight of white liner, mascara, and shadow. The makeup artists used Vincent Longo eye shimmer soufflé for the eyes, which can be found at Sephora along with his other products. A pinch of pink blush and glossy petal pink lips were the finishing touches for the natural attainable look. The splash of color was used as an accessory to emphasize the beauty not over power it.

The look of the collection came together to create unforgettable silhouettes. The whimsical beauties cascaded down the runway in feminine but versatile separates at the beginning and flirtatious dresses and gowns toward the end of the show. The use of silk, organza, and satin in light muted tones emphasized the overall fanciful aura of the collection.
