I have learned through the years, that accessories are what creates and gives substance to a look. It is the key component of any outfit. Especially today, in our tendency to dress in one look that fits all year round, accessories can function like strategic tools to navigate us adroitly from season to season, without needing to change the basics. They can really recreate a look and update it each season. Try these ideas for new pieces and style trips for spring, to vary your basic wardrobe staples from season to season.
First of all, new bags are a necessity.
A bag collection that caught my attention is the Olivia and Joy handbag label. Always at the tipping point from trend to super trend, these bags have versatility and the price is not a problem for my wallet. This Expose Hobo is boxy, has a gold decorative faux zipper in the front, a contrasting band and a snap piece with a loop on the side. It is easy and practical, good for work and for casual outings.

A beautiful clutch for romantic getaways or coffee at the Neue Gallery, the Carteria Murano Buanilha by Ira Salles mixes crochet with fine materials like beads and leather to create a clutch that reflects the Brazilian way of life. A favorite of Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Alicia Keys, Ira Salles bags are available at the Blue Bag Boutique in NYC, 266 Elizabeth Street, NYC, 212 966-8566 and at http://www.Irasalles.br.com.
On a day when you don’t want to take anything too seriously, equip yourself with one of the trendy Jump From Paper bags. These bags feature two dimensional hand-drawn cartoons reinvisioned into real purses or Ipad carriers. The bold lines and bright, vibrant colors are so unique – the bags almost don’t seem real. You will draw a lot of commentary from perfect strangers.

On my wrists, I stack different combinations of Hippie Bling by Kim and Zozi. These bands started as ways to express friendship bonds between two women.
