The Council of Fashion Designers of America and VOGUE Fashion Fund is synonymous with America’s brightest and most creative young minds in the fashion industry. As a means to boost the fashion market and provide mentorship and financial support to emerging designers the CFDA and VOGUE magazine united seven years ago to begin the fashion fund. The fund promotes a line of support for young designers beginning businesses each year.
The CFDA/VOGUE Fund announced the 2010 finalists in July. The finalists include Joseph Altuzarra of ALTUZARRA, Billy Reid, Christian Cota, Eddie Borgo, Gregory Parkinson, Oliver Helden and Paul Marlow of Loden Dager, Moss Lipow, Pamela Love of Pamela Love Jewelry, Prabal Gurung, and Robert Geller. The selection committee will review the designer’s current collections and thereafter they will be evaluated in their own studios. In November, the winner will be announced and awarded $200,000 and a yearlong mentorship.
Joseph Altuzarra launched ALTUZARRA after working with namesakes such as Riccardo Tisci, Proenza Schouler, and Marc Jacobs. His collection is intended to provide a modern and practical wardrobe for today’s professional woman. With a French upbringing and training both in New York and Paris, the ALTUZARRA is the best of both fashion markets.

Gregory Parkinson merges eclectic color and pattern inspired from English fashion with Californian sensibilities. The collections are pristinely crafted yet comfortable and truly emphasize modern American sportswear. The combination of unique textiles with easily silhouette sets his collections in a distinctive bracket.
Loden Dager was launched in the fall of 2006 under Paul Marlow and Oliver Helden, who wanted to emphasize the notion of the student worker in the fashion industry. Loden Dager creates collections relevant for today’s modern man. Using traditional menswear tailoring and essential wardrobe pieces, the design duo brings refinement to a contemporary fashion market.
