Collaborations are supposed to be the beautiful brain child of two kindred spirit brands coming together to produce something they either wouldn’t have the means or desire to on their own. More often than not when I catch a glimpse of the final product I do the head nod of disapproval while muttering, “why God, why” but with the forthcoming Kate Spade x Keds Spring Collection this was far from the case.
Everyone’s favorite cheery, girly brand Kate Spade has joined forces with the classic and versatile brand Keds for kicks that will not only pair with your wardrobe, but make you happier by doing so. They’ve done an excellent job of taking either one pattern or color and making the shoe fun, but not “I just graduated from clown college” rollicking good time. Navy stripes paired with a red interior, blue polka dots combined with a slim pink stripe, neon chevron’s and a picnic-ready blue gingham respectively complement the shoes while (thankfully) remaining subtle enough for a casual office setting.
The collection debuts in February at select Kate Spade stores and at Nordstrom. Prices will range from an affordable $75-$85. So go ahead and treat yourself to a little kick of sunshine during the dreariest month of the year.
