The Museum of Sex exists to “collect and preserve art and artifacts that support its mission to present the history, evolution and cultural significance of human sexuality.” It also makes for an eyebrow-raising walk through the galleries with your partner, sure to stimulate conversation and much more. Salsa Dancing at the COPACABANA

Burn off those Valentine calories as the legendary Tito Rojas takes over Copacabana’s main stage with his classic salsa beats. This newly re-opened mid-town Mecca is a place where you can lose all inhibitions, and just let the music move you. Even if your partner isn’t exactly “Rico Suave”, they’ll score big points for trying. $20 cover charge; Pri-fixe menus for Valentine’s Day will be offered on their rooftop and supper club levels.

BAM Howard Gilman Opera House at 7:30pm
Those of you seeking the sublime can check out this Verdi masterpiece at BAM, presented by the New York City Opera in their first season off the Lincoln Center campus. While this company has had its fair share of drama off the stage recently, you can rest assured that passion, tragedy, and a cast of powerhouse voices will make for the perfect excuse to reach out and squeeze your date’s hand. Run time: 2hrs 43min with intermission – Italian with English titles.
