Some scents just cannot be ignored. You walk by someone and the smell takes you away and you just have to get it for yourself. Well, have no fear because the following fragrances are sexy, sassy and downright head turning.

A rosy scent from Eau de Italie, Paestum Rose celebrates the ancient perfume making town of Paestum in Naples. A bit tangy with sweet, powdery undertones, Paestum Rose won’t overwhelm you with a rosey smell. Its spicy notes include cinnamon and black pepper made subtler with patchouli and cedarwood.

Kisses all around for this delightful import. Tann Rokka’s Kisu, which means kiss in Japanese, is filled with the exotic feel of old world bathing rituals. A spicy scent with ylang-ylang and rosewood, Kisu is a musky androgynous fragrance. More sensual than sweet, Kisu is a night person’s perfume for someone not afraid of capturing people’s attention and imagination with its heady elements yet not overpowering come hither aroma.

Crisp, clean rhubarb is the lead scent in Le Prince Jardinier’s new scent, Ciel, Mon Jardin. Along with rhubarb are the enticing smells of vanilla and jasmine, making this a truly kitchen worthy fragrance. Perfect for day tips in the country or picnics in the park, Ciel, Mon Jardin compliments any day with its sweet subtle scent.

With best-sellers all over the world, L’Artisan Parfumeur does it again with Fou D’Absinthe. But this perfume is anything but silly. Absinthe, the notorious drink that brings about a state of delusions and illusions is the muse for this latest L’Artisan creation. Fou D’Absinthe runs hot and cold, sweet and bitter, teasing with its different smells. Alcohol punctuates the top notes yet below that is a nutty smell with black-currants. The notes continue to switch off between alcohol mixes and different woodsy blends or sweet citrus mixes. Fou is perfect for someone who likes to drive those around them a little crazy.

It’s about time this much beloved European scent made its way across the Atlantic. Carthusia’s Numero Uno makes its US debut this summer and lucky for us. This tarty fragrance smells of the outdoors with fresh oranges, bergamot, lavender and thyme. The spice continues with ylang-ylang and violet. An ideal scent for the outdoorsy side in each of us.

All these spring and summer scents are available at Aedes de Venustas, 9 Christopher St, NY (212) 206-8674 and www.aedes.com
