Fragrance

By Kim Taylor

It’ll behoove you to keep your fragrances on the light side when the weather warms up, and these two new revitalizing scents will add some spring to your step as well as your perfume collection.

Le Couvent des Minimes is a debut fragrance by the joint arrangement of L’Occitane and Bath & Body Works. At the beginning of the 17th century, the Covent of the Minimes was established in Haute-Provence, and the nuns who lived there studied botany. They developed a passion for aromatic plants and crafted numerous infusions, and this new line pays homage to their strict principles and invigorating scents. The Body Splash is an intoxicating and light mixture of verbena and lemon, which heralds springtime more naturally than heavier scents. ($40, drugstore.com)

Biotherm’s Eau Vitamine E is a citrus scent rife with fruit essences, which hints at summer yet stays as light as spring. This is subtle, so it’s perfect for everything from boardrooms to yoga classes and spring shopping. The addition of vitamin E and other hydrating ingredients works on your skin’s behalf while you’re enveloped in the citrus scents of spring. ($38, Bigelow’s Pharmacy in New York City and biothermskincare.net
