Quelques Fleurs Royale Eau de Parfum was created in celebration of the essence produced for Princess Adelaide d’Orleans 175 years ago, and contains Sicilian bergamot, grapefruit, jasmine, rose, and white acacia honey. It comes in a pink bottle of sculpted French glass. $190 at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, and other fine department stores.

Etro’s Magot is a complex mix of eastern and western notes, rife with fresh white flowers, clove, lavender, and vanilla, in a wood base. This sophisticated, fragrant gem is suitable for the time of your life. $87 at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.

Apercu, a treat from the French fragrance house Houbigant, has a top note of bergamot, bitter orange neroli, jasmine, tuberose, lemon, and green leaf. The heart is comprised of sandalwood, patchouli, clove and cassis, and the base is rose, cinnamon and vetiver. This is an astounding fragrance from a house that has been making perfumes for 225 years. $150 – $225 at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and other fine department stores.

Joy by Jean Patou, is an aptly-named classic with a sensual, flirtatious heart of bergamot, roses, jasmine, and delicious vanilla. This is a truly a universally feminine fragrance that will match any dress, whether it’s a red Chinese wedding dress, a big Scarlett O’Hara-style stair sweeper, or a simple silk shift by Vera Wang. $85 at fine department stores.

Paul Smith London is a distinctive aromatic mix of lime, bitter orange neroli, lilac, jasmine, aniseed, heliotrope, and vanilla, grounded with seringa and amber. This is an “oh…wow!” fragrance that will prompt people to follow you around. The crushed cranberry glass bottle is also distinctive. Silver Rain by La Prairie has fresh top notes of crisp green apple, verbena flower, calabrain, bergamot, anise and crushed coriander, bolstered by heart notes of dewberry, plum, crystallized sugar accord, gardenia and tuberose blossom. Base notes of red sandalwood, rare agarwood, tonka bean and vanilla round out this unique new fragrance, which comes in a sleek silver metal bottle that perfectly captures the shape of a raindrop. $135 at Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, and Neiman Marcus.

Drop a flower bomb on your big day with Dutch fashion designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren’s new fragrance, Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf. Touted as “a thousand layers of flowers,” it’s an ideal choice for a bride-to-be. This fragrance opens with a burst of jasmine, rose and orchid, and follows with a tantalizing base of patchouli. It debuted exclusively at Saks in February of 2005, and has been delighting users ever since. $95 at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Your dress doesn’t have to be the only Vera Wang you wear when getting betrothed. Her fragrance, Sheer Veil, was designed with a gorgeous bride in mind. Sheer Veil is a delectable mix of champagne rose and lavender, with a heart of violets, in a base of white stephanotis, gardenias, and white lilies. Absolutely celebratory! The elegant bottle is clear with a slight lavender tint. $85 at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom stores.
