Last week in Las Vegas, Julia Stiles walked the red carpet at the Jason Bourne movie premiere rocking a sexy, messy-braid hair style. Love the look of this carefree summer sexy ‘do! Created by celebrity hairstylist Creighton Bowman using Leonor Greyl products, this wavy side braid is not only easy for you to create for yourself, it’s a perfect “beat the heat” style for day or night. Creighton Bowman tells us how simple it is to do; and using Leonor Greyl products will make sure your version looks every bit as red carpet worthy.

Creighton tells us that the look was inspired by gypsy style – “wild, untamed and with tons of movement”. Coincidently, Julia Stiles had seen some pictures of gypsy women just days before this premier and loved similar looks. Together, they decided a wavy messy braid, pulled to one side, would not only show off the delicate straps of her Leela Rose dress, but was also a perfect hot weather choice.

You too can easily create this look using Leonor Greyl products. Here’s how…

Creighton sprayed Tonique Hydrant all over Julia’s towel dried hair to add some moisture. Next, Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice was applied at the hairline and roots to create lift and volume. Julia’s hair was then dried in a classic blowout style using a round brush for extra volume and movement.

Then, he added a light spray of Condition Naturelle “for thermal protection and to help maintain the volume and texture.” Using a large barreled curling iron, he put in random waves for a “slept in next day texture.”

After the hair was prepped with volume, curl and texture, Creighton says, “We pulled all of Julia’s curled and textured hair to one side to showcase her neckline and the delicate straps of her dress,” and “To keep it to one side, the braid ran across the back and I pinned it down with small hair pins so they would disappear into her hair, pulling out pieces to keep it modern and sexy.” To keep flyaways under control, a touch of Leonor Greyl’s Baume Bois de Rose was used, and finally, a little spritz of Voluforme styling spray to hold it all night.

Once done, Julia Stiles chose dangling crystal earrings to complete her gypsy inspired look.
What I love about this style is that it’s such a great look for so many hair types, and perfection isn’t necessary for it to look perfect.
