Hair Care

By Stef Schwalb

The season of giving is my favorite time of year. One thing I look forward to the most? The best things that beauty companies have to offer. Their innovative packaging of the products we love makes gift giving a breeze and a beautiful one at that! So here’s another little present we hope will fill your heart with joy – a roundup of some of the best strand offerings around. Buy some for family and friends, or better yet, indulge in them on your own.

Known as the company that’s making “healthier hair with heat,” ThermaFuse is offering a trio of thermal-infused treats for the holidays that includes products to protect and repair hair with the following gift set formulas: Moisture, Volume and Colorcare. Each set contains 2 oz. travel-sized bottles of shampoos, conditioners and styling products. The Moisture set includes Moisture Shampoo, Moisture Condition, Thermacare™ Leave-in Condition and Esculpt medium-firm gel; Volume includes Volume Shampoo, Volume Condition, Straight Smoothing Balm and Nuage Finishing Spray; and Colorcare contains Colorcare Shampoo, Colorcare Condition, Thermacare Leave-In Condition and Nuage Finishing Spray. All products are formulated with the company’s innovative “HeatSmart Complex.”

Speaking of intelligent designs, our friends at Farouk Systems have two terrific all-season styling tools in the hue of holiday red. One is their 1500-watt CHI™ Turbo Dryer. It was the first low EMF (electro-magnetic force) dryer on the market today, which means it’s healthier for your hair and head, and this environmentally safe item also contains internal pure Ceramic heated coils that release moist even air temperature to help dry hair faster without overheating it. That translates to more shine, less dryness, reduced fly-aways and better color retention. Other features on this lightweight wonder include a DC motor, negative ions (for more moisture infusion into strands) and infrared (which helps to dry tresses from the inside out). The second item we’ve included for this season is the new CHI™ Ceramic Round Brushes. They offer the beautiful benefits of ceramic, ionic and far-infrared technology for all your blow drying and styling needs, which helps reduce breakage and tugging so the result is healthier looking locks that feel great. They are available in four sizes: small, medium, large and jumbo so there’s one to suit every strand length and style.

Something for everyone is what you’ll find in the bounty of beauty from Bumble and Bumble this season. They have also harnessed the power of three with the trifecta of hair goodies available in their gift sets – Light, Love and Peace. The Light set features an 8oz. bottle of Bb. Styling Lotion, a 4 oz.-sized Bb. Shine and the 10 oz. Bb. Classic Hairspray. The Love set includes a 5 oz. Damage Therapy Cleanser, a 5 oz Damage Therapy Conditioning Crème, a 6.7 oz. Damage Therapy Complex and 3.4 oz.-sized Styling Balm. And last but certainly not least is a little something for our men’s manes, the Peace set. It contains an 8 oz. Tonic Shampoo, 4 oz. Tonic Lotion and the 10 oz. Sumotech. Talk about celebrating the season with style!

And as far as style is concerned, color plays a big role in determining individual takes on the tresses. Here’s where PureOlogy’s offerings for the season come in very handy. They have three sets of strand presents designed to make hair hue more vibrant and enhance tress shine. All include their scientifically formulated ingredients, such as the AntiFade Complex and Nano Technology. The sets include the Gift of Brilliance, which consists of HydrateShampoo, HydrateCondition and NanoGlaze; the Gift of Opulence, which contains PureVolume Shampoo, PureVolume Condition and GlossingMist; and the Gift of Luxury, which offers the new NanoWorks Shampoo and Condition in 2 oz. petites. All products are 100% vegan, never tested on animals and come backed by the company’s promise of “longer lasting hair color guaranteed.”

And for our finale…we have an innovative new hair product designed for the ‘do sitting down south of your stomach. For adventuresome sisters everywhere, we introduce to you a special little someone making her debut. Betty is a new, safe coloring system formulated for your private tresses below, which colors naturally, covers grays (yes, that episode with Samantha’s bozo bush on “Sex In The City” wasn’t totally off the mark!) and enhances the hair down there to coordinate with the color above. The palette of color picks to choose from includes auburn, black, blonde, brown and fabulously fun Betty (a super vibrant pink). The no-drip formula is easy to use and can be applied as often as you maintain your regular mane.
