Got the “it’s not spring yet” blahs? Liven things up with a temporary pop of oh-so-not natural hair color. Oh why not? It washes out, and it’ll certainly make you the mane attraction for the day… or night.
Admit it; you love Katy Perry’s bold hair color choices. One day she’s bright blue, the next day perfectly pink, then gorgeous green, and all the way over the rainbow to yowza yellow. She’s a vibrant head of ROYGBIV.
While it works for her celebrity life and onstage performances, it would likely be a bit over the top for most of us, even if we had the desire to rock a full head of cotton candy pink. But still, girls just wanna have fun, and there’s no more fun than color, color, COLOR! So, go ahead, create high wattage highlights, bangin’ purple bangs, or a subtle to super streaked ponytail.
Rita Hazan, the hair stylist who creates Katy Perry’s colorful ‘do’s has created some temporary hair colors that’ll bring a cool pop of color to your locks. C’mon….dare to be a siren, or will you stick with demure? No matter, it’s all good. Color choices are pink, turquoise or purple.
Tip: Cover your clothing with a cloth while you spray.

Celebs Christine Aguilera, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj know that Scunci Hair Chalk isn’t child’s play, though using it is that easy peasy. Designed to work like a flat iron, the inserted brightly colored pieces of chalk are set in the handle. Simply run the neon pink, teal, purple or coral along your hair strands going as thick or thin as you like. Repeat on the same strands for more saturated color and longer lasting results.
Tip: Spray strands with hairspray to help “set” color.
Available: Duane Reade, Walgreens and other drug stores
These products wash out completely with regular shampoo. So go on…and get a head start for spring with this trend.
