Hair Care

By Devon Brown

The change of seasons is like a shock to the hair care system. Suddenly the products and routines that used to leave you perfectly coiffed and sassy have become the source of strange phenomena. Crispy, crunchy, limp or flakey, Wella is coming to your hair’s rescue with the May 2011 launch of a new line that will attempt to infuse some Spring into your strands.

Rocking a dry and tired fro pouf, I strolled into the Mark Garrison salon ready to put Wella’s new product line to the test.

Separated into distinct product groups, Wella has taken the guesswork out of hair care. If you’re a dyeing diva, you have to go for the Brilliance line. For the stressed out scalp, Balance, with its champagne extract is best, and Age Restore is for those of us looking to infuse into our locks the fountain of youth. To soften my dry curls I selected the hair nourishing Enrich line.

At the salon, the always-relaxing shampoo experience was made even better by the silky texture of the Enrich moisture shampoo. Made with crystals, pearls and intoxicating fragrance blends, all of the products are formulated to provide a full sensory experience.

From the runway…

…to real girls…

Wella has channeled its 130 years in the hair business into a new line of salon-caliber products that we can take home. While I only had the chance to experience one of the lines, I am super excited to experiment with some of the amazing styling products like the Curl Craft wax mousse and the Ocean Spritz, which is designed to give you an at-the-beach look…something welcome amid the concrete jungle that is New York City.
