Hair Care

By Kimberly McDonald

We already know from our days around the family dinner table that carrots are good for you. Ask anyone around you. They’ll tell you the beta carotene in carrots improves your eyesight. But do they know carrots are also good for your hair?!

Don’t believe me? Try JF Lazartigue’s Deep Action Treatment with Carrot Oil. This stuff is amazing. It’s a pre-shampoo, so you slather it on before hitting the shower. Typically 30 minutes is plenty of time for this deep action conditioner to work its magic on dry, damaged hair…but you can also leave it on overnight. Just don’t forget your shower cap…it could get a little messy without it.

The folks at JF Lazartigue maintain the philosophy that hair and scalp treatments are tantamount to facials and should be done weekly. This helps establish a balance in the hair’s moisture level and condition. Particularly with treatments such as this one, regular use can strengthen, nourish, and soften the hair shaft, which results in healthier, shinier hair.

If you’re bleached (platinum) blonde, you’ll have to opt for another of Lazartigue’s amazing conditioning treatments since the carrot oil in this product gives off a faint golden color. Otherwise, it’s good for all hair types, particularly if your hair has been weakened by perms (aka retexturizing) or coloring.

Try this product and I guarantee you’ll be addicted like me. Only watch yourself. Next time you sit down to dinner and see carrots on your plate, you might be tempted to slather yourself in them rather than consume them.

Deep Action Treatment with Carrot Oil and all of the other amazing JF Lazartigue (they are the “the most beautiful hair in the world” folks) are available online at or at Neiman Marcus stores across the country. If you happen to be one of those lucky types who can get to their hair analysis center and boutique in NYC, stop by. The address is 764 Madison Ave, 2nd Floor.
