Health & Fitness

We’ve all seen those brides, the ones who walk down the aisle with newly visible curves and toned jiggle-free arms. An impending walk down the aisle brings many feelings to the surface, and one major feeling is the trepidation of not fitting into the perfect dress. Trepidation soon turns into motivation as brides-to-be begin including workouts into their schedules and limiting their food intake. While their efforts may make for a thinner body, the way the weight is lost can often be dangerously unhealthy and might even border on eating-disorder friendly.

Fortunately, BN has found the healthy bride’s saving grace – Bridal Boot Camp. Many people have heard of variations of Bridal Boot Camp, but the official program, created by personal trainer Cynthia Coode, is the original form of this intense style of training.

BootCamp Creator – Cynthia Conde

When I asked Cynthia what gave her the idea of creating a fitness regimen associated with military training she stated, “My brother had joined the army, and came back 30 pounds lighter in 8 weeks!” It was then that the light bulb went off in Conde’s head to create a similar program for brides-to-be determined to reach their target weight before their walk down the aisle.

The program involves 6 weeks of group or one-one training sessions. To add to the effect of true military training, brides are given camoflauge clothing, dog tags, and are asked to purchase army boots. A nutritional consultant then creates an individualized healthy meal plan for the bride. “The reason our meal plans work”, says Conde, “is because we determine what ratio of carbs, proteins, and fats each person needs to control their specific sugar level. That way they are eating the right amount of foods so that they don’t feel weak or tired and can keep up with their workouts.”

The fitness regimen of this program involves 4 training sessions a week which consist of military drills and cardio conditioning to help burn fat, increase endurance, and build lean muscle mass. When asked about results, Conde says “Since we’re working within a 6 week period, our program is designed to show results immediately. This is not only good for the final goal of looking great for your wedding day but also helps people stay motivated.”

With 4 intense workout sessions a week, a personalized meal plan, and the support of fellow brides on the same program – Cynthia Coode’s Bridal Boot Camp is the perfect healthy way to walk down that aisle looking your best inside and out!

In case you’re still skeptical, Cynthia has provided BN’s readers with the below sample of what you might be in for during her boot camp. I tried this plan for just 7 days and lost a solid 2 pounds without feeling any hunger pangs or typical dieting irritability – it’s definitely worth a try for brides and non-brides alike.
