Did you ever wish that your health club could be an oasis of wellness, healing and spiritual cleansing? It can, if you are willing to throw away the usual notions of a gym. At Attune Holistic Fitness there are no memberships, classes, televisions, mirrors or loud music. Instead, a client’s fitness goals are met through individualized plans that are as unique as their fingerprints. I f it sounds too good to be true, it actually isn’t. Attune has a no nonsense approach to fitness that works.

“We do not sell a product. We are the anti-gym ” said Attune’s founder, Eva Pelegrin. Pelegrin believes that the traditional health club model is a system built on failure. “Machines train you in the appearance of fitness,” said Pelegrin. You may have flat abs and a tight behind, but still move awkwardly or hunch when you walk. That is the difference between Attune and regular health clubs.

“We teach you how to breathe and move from your center,” said Pelegrin. Once this centering phase is complete, clients can progress to a workout that is specifically tailored for them.
Since Pelegrin founded Attune five years ago she has developed a loyal and diverse clientele ranging from 13-year old ballet dancers to 70-year olds who want to be more fit. In addition to Pelegrin, whose background includes being a Holistic Fitness Practitioner, Russian Kettlebell lifting coach and Certified Wellness Coach, Attune has a staff of 25 professionals including nutritionists, personal trainers, massage therapists and acupuncturists. Not all clients use every specialty, but they are there if needed.

When clients come in Pelegrin has a consultation with them that includes completing a 17-page detailed questionnaire with sections such as personal fitness goals, medical history, nutrition, as well as emotional feelings towards food and body image. It takes a commitment to fitness just to fill out the questionnaire. Once it is completed, Pelegrin reviews the answers and along with the client creates a personal fitness plan.

To prove that Attune’s method works you only need to hear from Pellegrin’s clients. “I love, love, love Attune! I’ve been going for four years now and have experienced major changes; lost 85 pounds, learned better eating habits from their Nutritionist and reduced stress with monthly massages and reflexology. This investment in myself has been completely worth my time and money,” said Robin Paige. “I have been a member of Attune for over a year now. I’ve used Attune for acupuncture, therapeutic massages, once a month and I workout with a great trainer twice a week. My overall strength, balance and posture have never been better, and my lower back issues are gone. My trainer helps keep me focused and each workout is different and unique. This is not your ordinary gym,” said Aileen B.

After meeting Pelegrin and learning of her results, I too want to put myself in her capable hands and hope she can infuse me with boundless energy. You know what? I believe she can.
