January is a month that many of us want to go into hibernation. It’s time to cozy up and stay in — away from blustery weather and shoe-soaking snow. This year, vow to keep all things interesting with the help of a few of our winter favorites.

With the Sojourn Starter Kit from Tubbs Snowshoes you won’t need a lift ticket to get exercise on a snowy day. Grab your snowshoes, MetroCard and a thermos of hot chocolate and head to Central Park for an excellent aerobic workout (you can burn up to 1,000 calories an hour!). Other pluses: snowshoes are easier to store than cross-country skis, and Tubbs Starter Kit comes with Gaiters (protects ankles from the snow), poles and a DVD which gives you a crash course in walking over snow so you won’t tumble as easily in Strawberry Fields. A word of caution, like skiing, you’re bound to fall a few times when learning this new sport. If last season’s 5″ platform wedges didn’t scare you, snowshoes will be, well…a walk in the park.

The brisk winter months provide a host of reasons to get outdoors and work up a sweat. Thanks to Under Armour’s Poly Armour Cold Gear shirts, whether you are on a triple black diamond or walking to the corner deli, the cold is sure not to get in your way. These smart, functional base layers in chic color combinations like Apple and Opaline keep your core warm while the double sided, brushed interface fabric (affectionately known as Poly Armour) works to wick moisture away from your skin. A word of caution: Under Armour tends to run small, so buy one size up. Read more

For several months out of the year flip flops are relegated to the back of the closet. Forever looking for a winter replacement, post yoga, we discovered the Nuala Pushkar Shoe from Christy Turlington’s sporty, yet spiritual, venture with Puma: Nuala. These funky “shoeslips” (part shoe, part slipper) have a plush pillow insole and an outside made of silk and velvet nubuck. Wearing these babies makes you feel like you are walking on a cloud. And after an hour of sun salutations they’ll cradle your feet and help restore your soles.

Is your New Year’s Resolutions to eat more healthfully? Why not jump start a new, nutritious diet with a week or more of raw food guru Matt Amsden’s prepared organic, raw, delicious meals delivered right to your door. It’s hard to make excuses as to why you’d binged on Pizza Hutt when there’s a Greek pizza on onion bread topped with sunflower seeds, heirloom tomato marinara and fresh oregano in your fridge. Each week, Amsden and RAWvolution create a box of prepared, organic, raw foods that includes 2 savory soups, 4 gourmet entrées, 4 side dishes and 2 desserts. Delivered on Sunday nights in Los Angeles and New York to stars like Susan Sarandon and Cher, or anywhere in the US with Next Day Air.
