It is springtime in April, for many the observance of Easter and Passover, the season and holidays commemorating miracles and new beginnings. An appropriate topic to think about this time of year is Spontaneous Remission. Spontaneous Remission is the body’s miraculous self-healing without medical help and no really logical explanation of how it happens. Spontaneous Remission is intriguing and fascinates me.
Caryle Hirshberg and Brendan O’Regan, two non-medical researchers, worked at the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) and studied Spontaneous Remission. They collected the largest database of medically reported cases of Spontaneous Remission, finding some amazing discoveries. They discovered cases where cancer tumors miraculously disappeared. Their findings however did not come up with one conclusive logical connection or explanation.
Spontaneous Remission continues to give hope to some who find themselves with very little chance to survive a disease. The mind and body connection, our mind over matter is a powerful and mysterious phenomenon that some believe might assist in the body’s natural healing ability.
