I visited Westerly’s Health Food store the other day to pick up a few items.
To my delight, Gaby Sherrow was sampling her two homemade Gaby’s Granola flavors, Chai Spice Blend and Pine Nut Anise Blend.

A bit skeptical of the unusual combination, I nonetheless popped a cluster of the Pine Nut Anise Blend in my mouth. I was pleasantly surprised at the unexpected sweet, nutty and exotic taste. The unusual and unique combination of toasted pine nuts, sesame seeds, roasted hazelnuts and almonds mixed with anise seeds, orange zest and juicy raisins made a wonderful and flavorful blend. I imagined how delicious it would be mixed in some yogurt or eating a bowl for breakfast.

I moved over to the next package named Chai Spice Blend. The chewy mixture had chunks of crystallized ginger, cranberries, and shredded coconut. Crunchy pistachios and roasted almonds gave this combo a great contrast for a multi-textured blend. They were both surprisingly delicious.

These are far from your ordinary granolas. Gaby has dared to be different, creating harmonious spice combinations that give your taste buds a burst. These treats, packed with rich, indulgent ingredients, including mouthwatering spices linger in your mouth.

Both vegan and wheat-free varieties naturally sweetened with organic, mineral rich, maple syrup are loaded with whole grains naturally rich in fiber.

Some of Gaby’s suggestions for her delectable concoctions are munching them right out of the bag or sprinkling them on your favorite ice cream or frozen yogurt. Mix them in oatmeal to bring your breakfast alive. Add them to your favorite pancake or waffle mix for your next Saturday or Sunday brunch.
Let the granola enhance cookies, breads or muffins to spice up baked goods.
