Are you racking your brain, trying to think of something new and exciting to do with your “lover” on Valentine’s Day? I have a great idea for you.

This Valentine’s Day do something unique, fun and healthy all at the same time, set up a private partner yoga session. Couples Yoga is a great way to get some of the same benefits of yoga such as increased strength, flexibility, reduced stress and relaxation, while having a meaningful and fun way of connecting with your significant other.

Learn how to do poses, which enhance communication, playfulness, trust and intimacy. Together the two of you will work to receive equal benefit from the practice to achieve harmony in the pose.

If you know your partner would benefit from yoga, but would never try it alone, this could be a great way to get him/her started. You’ll be so limber, relaxed and energetic after your practice, no telling what will happen in your boudoir, enough said?

One Hour Private Partner Yoga Sessions start at $125. Call for discounted series packages.

Fit to be “Thai-d”
Another great partner activity is massage. There is a Thai Massage Workshop for Couples, just in time for Valentine’s Day. You will learn massage skills to please your partner. Come with a partner or get matched up with one. Sylvia Smith L.M.T and certified yoga instructor will be teaching the workshop on February 12.

Learn some of the ancient techniques of Thai massage, a 2500-year-old technique with its roots in Ayurveda and Chinese massage. It combines yoga like poses with acupressure points along energy lines. The practitioner uses thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet in a rhythmic dance from the toes to the head of the receiver and is like having yoga done to you. Doesn’t it sound fun?!

The benefits are similar to yoga with strengthening and often, flexibility being even greater than that achieved from yoga. Thai massage balances all the major systems of the body (nervous, circulatory, digestive, muscular and endocrine).

The results usually last much longer than a regular massage, which mostly affects only the muscles. You will feel deeply relaxed yet energized from this massage technique.

Included is a spicy, warm, raw chocolate elixir and bliss balls, (don’t you just love that name?) a raw chocolate creation by Sylvia herself. Raw chocolate is one of the richest sources of magnesium and releases serotonin, a brain chemical related to a positive sense of well-being.

So make your reservations right now, space is limited! The Thai Massage workshop for couples will take place on February 12 from 3-5:00pm at Balance Yoga 200 East 37th Street, 3rd floor.

The Thai Workshop is $50 for couples. Individuals pay $30.

Prefer Privacy…
The one hour private massage instruction is a half hour devoted to learning how to give one another the massage she/he really wants. Sylvia will teach you the techniques to relieve pain or stress on the areas you and your partner need it most. This can be Swedish, Deep Tissue or Thai massage. This package includes complimentary massage oil and a raw chocolate treat. After this session, you two will be so loose and relaxed you’ll be ready for a romantic Valentine’s night.

Private massage instruction for couples is $150.

(Longer sessions are available upon request)

Private Sessions of Thai and Deep Tissue massage, single or small group yoga sessions or corporate classes are also available.
