The fall season is almost here and Fashion Week is about to invade our fair city. So before six foot gazelles and Giseles prance about our city streets with no regard for the little people, it’s time to refresh our autumn attire. And the best place to start is with the hottest accessory of all – our pets.
This season our pups have definitely not been forgotten with fido’s fall fashions just as cute as ever. So scoop up your precious pooch and head to the nearest boutique because these darling duds won’t be staying on shelves for long.
Just because the World Cup is over doesn’t mean we can’t show our support. Dress your pup up in your team’s colors. And keep him (or her) warm in the process. With the fur guard don’t worry about trapping your cutie’s coat in the zipper. Plus, the light weight coat is perfect for evening autumn walks.
Tough guys get all the girls. And this season skulls are all the rage. So get your pup all roughed up in his own skull tank. Plus pick up a pink or black matching skull leash. Let your boy be bad to the bone.
In this urban jungle it never hurts to be careful. Which is why every pooch should come prepared for war with his or her own K-9 Camo Hoodie, perfect for hitting the pavement. In camouflaged pink, brown and green or beige, brown and green your pooch has never looked cuter to take it to the streets. Plus, check out camo this Fall on some of your favorite two-legged strollers on the runway.
The summer is over but the boys of summer are still going strong especially in New York. And hopefully into October. Shouldn’t your pooch be ready to cheer the Mets into the playoffs with his own baseball jersery with embroidered NY logo? Of course. Show your pup’s New York pride with this slimming pinstripe number for dogs of all sizes.
When it rains it pours and often in the fall. Keep your pup dry in their own rain coat. This reversible Cherry raincoat is not only practical but chic, as well. Adjustable under the neck and belly, in case Fido or Fifi packs on some winter weight, this adorable coat comes in posh pink or radiant red, depending on your pet’s personality. And of course, it’s water resistant.
And since your pup will be strutting his (her) stuff in style, he better have some hot treads to walk around in. Slip him into some hip designer sneakers – black with camo design or white with flame design. Your pooch will be the hottest hound on the block or avenue. Just remember to double knot.
No matter your pup’s personal fashion style, this is the season to let it shine. From frilly raincoats with cherries to roughie toughie skulls even the biggest baddest bowwow will be satisfied with this fall’s fashions.
All of the above styles and more are available at Trixie and Peanut, 23 E. 20th St., between Broadway and Park Avenue, (212) 358-0881, http://www.trixieandpeanut.com
