Consider trading the fuzzy slippers and flowers this year for an experience to remember with Mom. The city abounds with options for ages 2-102 that celebrate what Mother’s Day is truly about. Here are a few ideas to get you started – and best of all, they’re free.
Record a StoryCorps interview with Mom
How did you choose my name? Are you proud of me? These are just some of the questions that you can ask Mom on your guided 40-minute interview in the StoryBooth, located downtown in Foley Square. At the heart of StoryCorps’ mission is the sharing and preserving of the treasured stories of our lives. Participants are given a copy of their interview to keep, while the other is documented and preserved in StoryCorps’ national archives. Just in time for Mother’s Day, the organization has released its latest compilation, Mom: A Celebration of Mothers from StoryCorps, available in bookstores now. A free interview gift card is downloadable with book purchase.
