You may have looked over that Little Penguin walking across one of the many labels in your local wine shop, and thought that it just blends in with the plethora of other wines trying to capitalize on a flourishing market by draping their vino with a cartoonish logo. The Little Penguin is much more than just another fun brand…they actually provide a fantastic wine! But we’ll get back to the wine in a minute; there’s a little bit more to this story…

The Little Penguin is marching on to do a little something special for the environment!

The Adopt-A-Penguin campaign was launched in June 2006 in order to protect the real life Little Penguins of Phillip Island in South East Australia. All funds raised from the Adopt-A-Penguin campaign will go to the Penguin Foundation, in Victoria Australia. By visiting www.thelittlepenguin.com you can enter to win a free adoption of your very own Little Penguin…sorry unlike the wine you can’t actually take this one home…I asked.

The Adopt A Penguin campaign is sure to capture the hearts of wine patrons all over the globe…after all the Little Penguin did have to travel all the way from Australia just to get to you wine rack.

The wine itself is particularly good…but don’t just take my word for it. The Little Penguin 2003 Shiraz was rated “Best Value” by Wine Spectator magazine. The nature of the Little Penguin is to be playful, and enjoy life to the fullest, hence the creators of this brand decided to offer three convienent sizes; 187 milliliter single serving, the standard 750 milliliter bottle, and the 1.5 liter magnum.

Besides the Shiraz, The Little Penguin offers a Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, White Shiraz and a Pinot Noir.
