Metro Man & Metro Home

By Bir Ganguly

This is the story of a real-life superhero, Christopher Reeve. His superman persona was not limited to the silver screen. When tragedy struck in the form of a riding accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down, he did not give up and retreat into himself. Instead, he embarked on a mission for increased research and advancement in the treatment of spinal cord injuries – a fight he fought on until breathing his last on October 11, 2004. His single-handed contribution in bringing various neurological conditions to the forefront of public and political attention has truly changed the shape of funding and medical research in the area. More impressively, the Superman’s activism and public involvement pre-dates his own tragic accident. He had already been a champion of the arts and of progressive social and environmental issues.

As a tribute to this great man, philosophy has created the “believe in miracles” shampoo, bath and shower gel to continue to help support the foundation that he was the ‘heart’ of. 100% of the proceeds from every sale of the product benefit the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation which facilitates research to help cure spinal cord injuries and other neurological disorders. The beautiful, lightly sugar scented shampoo, bath and shower gel has hints of ginger in it and comes in a starkly simple packaging. It is sweet and pure with a refreshing aroma – a reflection of the spirit of the man it remembers.
