According to Gordon Research 2016, revenues for U.S. wine sales in 2015 reached $38 billion, a 1.3% increase from 2014 — an uptick is predicted for 2016. We decided to put together a list of wines that we selected at affordable price points. We also thru in a punch recipe and one of our favorite boozy desserts.
Three cheers for the holidays!
The Dreaming Tree offers a holiday gift pack with three favorite Dreaming Tree varietals: Chardonnay, Crush and Cabernet Sauvignon plus a $50 gift card to Ticket Master, priced at $69. Here is why we like them so much. The Dreaming Tree Wines are an eco-friendly, affordable, and approachable from world renowned musician Dave Matthews and award winning winemaker, Sean McKenzie. They are smooth, nutty, palatable with a hint of baking spices — the perfect selection for all of your guests.
Your friends and family will also appreciate that the Dreaming Tree is committed to sustainability as each bottle incorporating a recycled paper label, cork closures that are natural and recyclable and bottles that are a quarter pound lighter than traditional wine bottles. A portion of proceeds from the sale of every bottle also goes towards worthy environmental organizations like the Wilderness Society and Living Lands & Waters. Remember, the holidays are a season so you can purchase these for the next two weeks and still be on time to raise a glass or two.

Peter Lehmann Portrait Cabernet Sauvignon 2014: We selected this “entry level” Cabernet Portrait that is made from a diverse range of Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards scattered throughout the different sub-regions of Barossa. It is subtle, elegant, floral and aromatic. The vintner tells us that while beautiful for drinking now, this Cabernet can be cellared with confidence for 5-8 years, during which time it will soften and become more complex. This made our list for your guests to raise a glass or take home with them.

Some wines are better for punch than others. That’s why we decided to use Clos du Bois Cabernet Sauvignon for this social gathering. It’s simple to make.
The ingredients include:
3 bottles Clos du Bois California Cabernet Sauvignon
½ liter St. Germain
¼ liter lime juice, freshly squeezed
½ liter white cranberry juice
Just mix all liquid ingredients into a punch bowl. Top with club soda. Then garnish each cup with grated cinnamon, edible flower or candy ribbon.

Deck the halls, haul out the holly and heat your guests up with DEWAR’S 12. It is a rich, fruity and smooth blend, with warm, buttery and mellow notes. After Dewar’s 12 is blended, it is it is returned to the vintage oak casks so it can mature further. This extra step is called double barrel aging and it makes DEWAR’S 12 Blended Scotch Whisky an even smoother blend with a long, lingering finish.
Here is our hottest recipe:
DEWAR’S Hot Chocolate
2 parts DEWAR’S® 12 Blended Scotch Whisky
3-4 parts Hot Cocoa
In a mug or Irish coffee glass, combine Dewar’s 12 with hot cocoa/hot chocolate; top with whipped cream then add a dusting of cocoa powder.
