Okay guys and gals, it’s time to BBQ, hit the beach, golf, trek to the mountains and sail the seas. Let’s hear it for summer!
This year I put together of list of must-have items that will help every guy get through every climate with style. Here is what the ladies really want to see you wearing (no bikini swimsuits or thongs allowed!)
You will all thank me for rediscovering the absolute coolest sunglasses for the summer. Hobie Polarized has the most amazing selection of styles for this season. You’ll want one pair for the beach, another pair for driving and yet another pair just because they look fantastic on your mug. This company started in Dana Point, CA in 1950 and their frames still rock today.
I’m a fan of their Woody in Sea Blue, Olas with Sunset Mirror and the Harper in Leopard Tortoise. They not only make you look good, they help protect your eyes with the latest technology.

I recently discovered Tattoo Golf and their line of clothing for those who swing clubs, plant tees and hit the greens. This is not your grandpa’s golf attire. The line is edgy, fun and daringly designed (vis-à-vis tattoos).
The Tattoo Golf clothing brand was created due to a demand in the golf apparel industry that actually reflects the style, fashion sense and attitude of today’s golfer. I’m a fan of their t-shirts, hats and the golf shirt seen above.

You’re going to need to cover-up when you get out of the pool or when the sun sets. King’s of Cole offer some of the most comfortable hoodies on the market. I picked this brand because I was so impressed with the plush fabric and their vibrant colors for this season (check out the mint). I also like the rose gold colored zipper. It’s comfortable, stylish and perfect for a pool party or to cover-up from the sun at the beach.
Created by Elana Brynes for men and women.

Different Jeans for Different Men
For more practical gents, I chose the latest styles by the tried-and-true — Wrangler Jeans Co.
Wrangler Advanced Jeans are, in my opinion, the most comfortable pair for active men. Guys will need new jeans to hike, bike, boat and complete a long honey-do list this summer. So this is my pick. I tried them and they fit well without pinching. I recommend the Regular Fit Mid Stone. If they’re good enough for Drew Brees and Brett Favre, they’re perfect for all mature athletic Metro Men. Rugged. Durable.
You should also know about the new Wrangler Jeans Co. Red. These jeans are the latest collection from the company with new fits and finishes. They come in Vintage, Skinny, Slim, Straight and Boot. I pick these jeans for a younger man on a budget and doing outdoor activities such as a summer job or projects around the house for mom and dad. They are also perfect for nights at Coney Island, Jones Beach and Six Flags, etc.
The one last item from Wrangler is this plaid western shirt. You would think it’s for the fall but I guarantee that you will see more of the coolest guys donning the western style while sitting around the bonfire on the beach or taking the kids to the amusement park this July and August.
This Plaid Woven Vintage Indigo is made with ultra-light cotton fabric that breathes perfectly for the summer sizzle. What I like about this shirt is the style and functionality — snap buttons. It’s going to be as hot as a cowboy in an August rodeo and as cool as a Wall-Streeter sailing to Cape Cod.
For those who need a well-fitted jean for dressier occasions, I give a big thumb up to the collection from Mott & Bow. I’m slim and fit, and their Mosco Resin Rinse Slim fit me perfectly. These jeans are all about denim science which involves the resin application: sprayed or immersed. They also take into consideration the scraping of the jeans for a different look and feel. The fabric stretches with movement. The outcome is fantastic and these jeans are perfect for date night or when shorts are not appropriate attire. Ordering online is easy.

You know “Orange Is The New Black.” Well, I’ve taken the phrase literally and fell in love with these amazing summertime shoes. Portovelo makes footwear for people who are not behind bars but travel the globe. Comfort, color and style are immediately evident in their design.
I love these Sierra Khaki loafers (above). This company is all about people who roam free and are intrigued by world travel. They have created not only fashionable and functional footwear but also the best style for the season with incredible colors and their signature orange on the sole. This brand will be seen from the streets of Brooklyn, to the Hamptons, to the best surf in California. They are lightweight and perfect for travel.

There you have it from head to toe. Metro Man wishes you all a safe and enjoyable summer.
